A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. Saturday, May 17, has claimed the life of a Moundville man. The pedestrian, Michael E. Snipes, 52, of Moundville who was fatally injured when he was struck by the 2004 Honda Civic driven by an 18-year-old juvenile. Snipes was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama 60 near the 4 mile marker, approximately one mile south of Akron, in Hale County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
