Whaley dies in single-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa Co. Aug. 14

A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, has claimed the life of a Centreville man. Richard J. Whaley, 37, was fatally injured when the 2019 Ford F-150 pickup he was driving left the roadway and struck several trees. Whaley was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama 69 near the 172 mile marker, approximately 23 miles north of Northport, in Tuscaloosa County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
