HCSD reports arrests for marijuana, failure to appear, DUI over last week

Hale County Sheriff’s Dept. has released the follow report of the department’s recent activity:

Arrests:
August 7, 2025
Christopher Cannon, 49, of Greensboro, was arrested for first-degree possession of marijuana.

August 9, 2025
Michael LeShawn Croom, 29, of Thomaston, was arrested for driving under the influence.
Charles Washington Lyles, 30, of Sawyerville, was arrested for five counts of failure to appear.

Incidents:
August 6, 2025

Theft of property in the third degree was reported on Rosemary Road near Newbern.

August 8, 2025
Domestic violence in the third degree was reported on County Road 5 near Akron.

August 9, 2025
A miscellaneous incident was reported on County Road 30 near Sawyerville.
A miscellaneous incident was reported on County Road 34 near Akron.

August 10, 2025
Burglary in the third degree and larceny/theft were reported on Sunflower Lane near Sawyerville.
Harassing communications were reported on Alabama Highway 69 near Greensboro.
Harassment was reported on Alabama Highway 14 near Greensboro.
