A Tuscaloosa woman accused of running over a Hale County deputy during a 2023 traffic stop in Greensboro has been arrested on felony charges more than two years after her indictment.

Mary Marshella Hood, 55, was arrested on July 28, 2025, on charges of second-degree assault, attempting to elude law enforcement, and reckless driving, according to court records. The charges stem from a March 23, 2023, incident in which Hood allegedly struck Sgt. Ken Robertson of the Hale County Sheriff’s Office while fleeing a traffic stop.

A Hale County grand jury indicted Hood in March 2023, finding that she acted with intent to prevent a peace officer from performing his lawful duties and caused physical injury to Robertson. The indictment also accuses Hood of willful and wanton reckless driving that endangered others.

A warrant was issued for Hood’s arrest on March 28, 2023, with bond set at $15,000. She was taken into custody on the charges this week.
