State lawmakers are inviting residents to a town hall meeting on Thursday, May 29, to discuss the potential local impact of recent federal budget cuts and tariff policy changes.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Marengo County Economic Development Authority, located at 2400 E. Coats Avenue in Linden.

State Representative AJ McCampbell, a Marengo County native, Representative Thomas Jackson, whose District 68 includes Uniontown and southern Perry County, and State Senator Bobby Singleton, the Senate Minority Leader and a resident of Hale County, will lead the event. Elected officials and other community leaders are expected to be in attendance.

The town hall is open to the public and will include a legislative update and discussion on how recent federal actions could affect local economies and services. Organizers say interested residents from across the region are encouraged to attend.
