Jonathan L. Robinson, known to many as Jimmy, was born on June 20, 1944, to the late Viola (Henry) Williams and the late Willie Scott. He accepted Christ and joined Greenleaf Baptist Church. He died May 2 at the age of 80.

Jimmy graduated from Hale County Training School in Greensboro. After graduation, he moved to Flint, Michigan, where he worked at General Motors. He retired from General Motors after 33 years of service. During his time in Flint, he was also a member of a van club. After retirement, he returned to Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents; a son, Terrell King Robinson; a daughter, Leslie Young; a brother, James Robinson; sisters, Georgia Williams and Martha Williams; and a nephew, Darrell Robinson.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of 59 years, Christeen King Robinson; two children, Donnie Robinson of Michigan and Vanessa Dawson; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Annie Smith of Demopolis, Shirley (Dave) Petway of Atmore, Ollie Williams, Darlene (Lorenzo) Long, Pamela (Johnny) Lawson, Mildred Williams, Jannett Williams—all of Greensboro— and Gayle Drayer of Birmingham; four brothers, Billy Scott, Jackie Dixon, Michael (Christy) Dixon of Birmingham, and Anthony (Teressa) Dixon of Indiana; six sisters-in-law, Ethel Robinson of Moundville, Celelia (Freddie) Harris, Ruby King, Katherine King, Patricia (Darryl) Agnew, and Adell King, all of Greensboro; three uncles, Clarence Robinson of Greensboro, Robert (Rebecca) Scott of Flint, Michigan, and Authur Scott of Buffalo, New York; and two aunts, Mary Jordans and Joella Robinson of Buffalo, New York.

He is also remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Robinson were held Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Greenleaf Baptist Church, 13584 Highway 25, Greensboro, Alabama 36744, with Pastor Antonio Shelton officiating and Reverend C.H. Agnew, Church Pastor.
