A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:58 p.m. Saturday, May 3, has claimed the life of a Moundville man. Willie T. Wills, 44, was fatally injured when the 2024 Dodge Hornet he was driving struck the 2019 GMC Acadia driven by Jason G. Corley, 41, of Brent. Wills was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Corley was injured and transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for medical treatment. Two juveniles, who were passengers in the GMC, were injured and transported to local hospitals for treatment. Prior to the crash, Wills was attempting to elude an officer with the Brent Police Department.
The crash occurred on Alabama 5 near the 84 mile marker, approximately two miles south of Brent, in Bibb County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
