Telvin Jamal White, 30, of Greensboro, is facing a series of charges following a traffic stop early in the morning on Nov. 23. White was taken into custody after state law enforcement officers allegedly discovered drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a suspended driver’s license during the stop. He is currently being held at the Hale County Jail.
According to court documents, White was stopped at approximately 2:53 a.m. in Greensboro for a traffic violation. During the stop, officers reported finding a digital scale containing cocaine residue, leading to a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. A search of White’s vehicle allegedly revealed two bags of methamphetamine and approximately 20 grams of cocaine, resulting in felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute.
In addition to the drugrelated charges, White faces charges for driving with a suspended license and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, both violations of Alabama traffic laws. Court records indicate that his driver’s license had been previously suspended, and during the stop, White allegedly failed to move over for the officer’s emergency vehicle.
Bond was set at $1,000 for the paraphernalia charge, $3,000 for possession of a controlled substance, and $20,000 for the more serious charge of possession with intent to distribute, bringing the total bond amount to $24,000.
